Did you know the day after Christmas is boxing day? You probably did. I think most people know, but the celebration thereof is often limited to countries that belong to the British Commonwealth.
I’ve heard more than one theory about why it’s called “Boxing Day” The most recent was that it was the day that employers gave their employees gifts, in “Christmas Boxes”.
In Canada, Boxing Day looks a lot like Black Friday to us Americans. But shopping sales, door busters, a little craziness. They don’t have their Thanksgiving holiday in November, leading them into the Christmas season, so I guess you have to attach the shopping to the day after the big holiday.
My boxing day was spent relaxing, playing a video game, maybe a little programming. It was a good Boxing day 🙂
